Decide what you want or where you want to get to. You can’t cook your favorite dish without first knowing its recipe. Even in achieving your goals, you need to plan how you will work towards it and achieve it. Your plan could be detailed or short. It to include ways reach them and leeway should be made should your plan fail. Rewards should be included in it. Short-term rewards will be more effective in keeping you motivated than long term rewards.
We’re living in a world full of distractions. Things like phone notifications movies & series on the Internet are distractions and are fighting for your attention and often winning. Get rid of phone notifications and cut down time on non productive activities.
Reward yourself after achieving your goal reward yourself with something. Rewards may be intrinsic or extrinsic. Rewards should not be very large or very small but should be balanced. Research has however shown extrinsic rewards like money actually increases motivation. Intrinsic rewards that are tangible and foreseeable actually decrease motivation.
